Above the Lindens
Conservation work with mature Linden trees
On a crisp morning just four days into the spring of 2022, we prepared two bucket trucks and our brand new Spider Lift to hoist multiple climbers into the canopies of this collection of centennial Lindens, as a team of ground men worked below. By reducing its outer canopies, the grove was pruned in order to improve its storm worthiness. Alleviating strain on vulnerable unions and areas of decay, the trees are now better positioned to withstand the impact of wind, precipitation and gravity.
This day was geared towards preserving the value and lasting impact of these trees over decades, an important component in safeguarding the precious ecology of the South Fork.
Thank you Bill Delano for capturing the beauty of the Lindens on video.
Congratulations Roger!
Roger Quiceno, BMA team member for fifteen years, was officially named a Certified Arborist by the International Society of Arboriculture. ISA promotes the professional practice of arboriculture and fosters a greater worldwide awareness of the benefits of trees.
In the video above, Roger led the work on these mature Linden trees alongside our newest addition: the Spider Lift, a highly maneuverable, 70ft elevated work platform that arrived this March.
